Tartu Region has a strategic goal for developing healthy food products. We have many companies foreign and domestic companies who have focused their product line to decreasing health risks. For example, Bio-Competence Centre of Healthy Dairy Products developed award winning Lactibacillus pactorum probiotic that helps to maintain healthy heart by lowering blood pressure. Allthough 67% of the whole production is consumed domestically we still have interesting export countries like Japan, USA, Italy & Germany.
